Featuring Bill Gainer

Bye, Baby Bye

The stars wept
that night we met.
I should have listened
closer.

There has always been
something between us
pushing -
the weight of tired eyes
heavy hearts
secrets pushed too deep.

So, I'm giving it back
your mistake -
Maybe there's time
to recapture what's
slipped away.
Someone else to love
but not me kid.
After you,
it will take a lot of ice
to warm this heart.
Bye
baby bye.

The Mexicans

Everybody's got a problem
some people two, three
maybe four.
I'm thinking the only folks
that can fix these
problems
are the Mexicans.
They fix everything.
And now
we've pissed them off.
This is not going to end well,
not at all.
Not without
the Mexicans.

Alice

I have a feeling
I’ll be buried
by strangers.
The kids grown
lost to their own lives.
Friends
a few.
Most hoping
I won't take too long.
The dog
might miss me
the cat
not so much.
We never were
that close.
So the dog it is.
If there's anything
left
it's for Alice
the dog.
Keep her happy
warm
and fed.
Don’t let
the postman
try to pet her
he never was
a favorite.
And make sure
she doesn’t
sleep alone.
Neither of us
ever liked
sleeping alone.

 Another Global Warming Talking Point

Nipples
hard.

Even
in this heat
she still turns
heads.
